Mr. Bettera has been in the restaurant business for over 40 years. At the age of 15, he traveled throughout Europe and developed a desire to be a restaurateur. He received his formal culinary training in Italy at Lago Maggiore and then proceeded to hold many positions in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, England, and Bermuda before coming to the United States. Locally, he was at The Cornerhouse in Farmington before traveling to Santa Barbara, CA. and then his subsequent return to La Trattoria in Canton in 1969.
